Senior Planning Engineer, Abu Dhabi, UAE

The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting project schedules for the ADNOC Offshore CED Project. The role ensures effective planning, progress measurement, forecasting, and scheduling control throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases while ensuring compliance with ADNOC Offshore requirements and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) covering Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up activities.
Prepare Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and detailed execution schedules in Primavera P6.
Establish project baselines and monitor schedule performance against approved targets.
Develop work breakdown structures (WBS), coding structures, and project calendars.
Ensure alignment between contractor, subcontractor, vendor, and client schedules.
Progress Monitoring & Control
Monitor project progress and identify schedule variances.
Analyze critical path activities and assess schedule impacts.
Prepare recovery and acceleration plans to mitigate delays.
Conduct trend analysis and forecast project completion dates.
Monitor engineering deliverables, procurement status, construction progress, and commissioning readiness.
Project Controls & Reporting
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and ADNOC Offshore.
Develop project dashboards, S-curves, manpower histograms, productivity reports, and KPI reports.
Support management reviews by providing schedule performance analysis.
Generate earned value reports and schedule performance indicators.
Risk & Change Management
Perform delay analysis and schedule risk assessments.
Evaluate the impact of change orders, scope changes, and unforeseen events.
Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and supporting documentation.
Participate in risk workshops and mitigation planning.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Interface with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management teams.
Coordinate with ADNOC Offshore representatives and contractors regarding planning and progress issues.
Participate in project review meetings and management presentations.
Ensure planning data is accurately reflected across all project disciplines.
Commissioning & Handover Support
Develop commissioning and system completion schedules.
Monitor Mechanical Completion (MC), Ready for Commissioning (RFC), Ready for Start-Up (RFSU), and Handover milestones.
Support development of system turnover plans and commissioning tracking systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
Primavera P6 Professional Certification preferred.
PMP Certification is an advantage.
Membership in a recognized engineering institute is desirable.
Experience
Minimum 12-15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the Oil & Gas industry.
Minimum 8 years in EPC/EPCM projects involving offshore facilities, brownfield modifications, or major capital projects.
Previous ADNOC Offshore project experience is highly preferred.
Strong experience in engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
Experience supporting mega-projects within the UAE and Middle East region preferred

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE: 

 

The purpose of the job is to:

Ensuring monthly VAT data collection, review, consolidation, preparation of FAB Group VAT returns, including collecting supporting and any documentation/responses as may be required.
Monthly transactional review and reconciliation for AOV submissions.
Support the tax team by working closely with supporting stakeholders of the business in identifying and implementing tax related system enhancements.
Ensuring tax payments have been appropriately made to the tax authority, journal entries and reconciled in accordance with internal group policies and procedures
Assist in collecting and observing Indirect tax data of international branches and subsidiary in order to identify potential revelations. 
Assist the tax team coordinator in all the IT related projects, reconciliations and project UAT’s.
Assist with other tax admin matters and ad hoc requirements. 
 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

A self-starter and motivated individual 
Shows good drive and initiative with strong interpersonal skills 
Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders across the bank 
Deals with external consultants wherever required
Deals with Tax authority as required on a timely basis

 

Job Context 

Specific Accountability

Prepare VAT / GST return filing documents as required under Group Tax Policies i.e. procedures manuals, SOPs etc. 
Support the Group Tax team in the representation on all Finance / IT systems projects concerning VAT / GST data requirements.
Identify VAT / GST requirements in systems that need to automate and highlight to the Tax manager. 
Collect and follow up Indirect tax compliance submissions from international sites.
Support Tax manager in arranging audit data to close out audit points raised and ensure minimization of new audit points. 
Keep up to date with relevant Tax technical developments. 
Ensure timely AOV submissions by performing transactional review and account reconciliation.
Support Tax manager in VAT / GST internal projects as and when required.
 

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY: 

 

Delegation of Authority for Taxation as required 
Key support for tax information for Group Finance
Group Tax Policy adherence
Group Governance Policy for Taxation 
Delegated authority on administration for Corporate Tax as well as Tax Transfer Pricing matters internally
 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 

 

Minimum Qualification

Relevant academic qualifications (Accounting/Tax preferred)
First or Second-degree qualification 
Professional Tax qualification.
 

Minimum Experience

3+ years of experience in banking industry and 2+ years’ experience in Indirect Tax (VAT/GST) compliance.
Experience of indirect tax processes and a good understanding of different technologies applied in a tax environment.
Good knowledge of IT systems and use of tax accounting system.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
Quick learner and self-motivated.
Able to record issues and propose solutions.
Ability to handle pressure and tight timeframes.

This role reports to the VP of MENA region and will work closely with Sales and Account Management teams.

 

As our Senior Account Manager, your key responsibilities will be
Managing the relationship with Cognite’s most valuable customers;
Developing a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders and executive sponsors;
Ensuring all Cognite activities are closely aligned with the customer's business case and business strategy, allowing them to realize the full potential of Cognite’s products;
Driving expansions and securing renewals for your assigned accounts;
Developing value roadmaps and account plans, charting a path to the customer’s desired outcome with Cognite software, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of Cognite's products, identifying expansion opportunities for account managers to close;
Working with the Sales organization to close upsell/cross sell opportunities to expand customer lifetime value
Communicating the product roadmap to customers and ensuring it meets the customer’s needs; 
Serving as the “voice of the customer to both product management and customer community management;
Collaborate with Field Marketing/Account Development team to ensure customer engagement with newsletters, webinars, and events;
Identifying and assessing renewal risks for customers’ license subscriptions and collaborate with internal teams to ameliorate; and
Collaborate with the ecosystem of Cognite partners to maximize value generation
 

We believe most of these should match your experience
5+ years experience and a demonstrable track record in leading customer engagements as an Account manager or related role 
A rich understanding of Account management methodologies and practices including (but not limited to) segmentation, customer journey, and customer health scoring; 
Commercial experience in renewals and upselling;
Track record of expanding complex enterprise deals
SaaS, Data Platforms and Oil & Gas background
Fluent in written and spoken English is required. Verbal skills in Arabic are an advantage.
Proven experience of selling at C-Level both in business and IT
Experience of collaborating together with channel partners
Experience working at a high-growth scale-up organization;
Familiarity with Salesforce, MEDDPICC, and Clari

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Install, configure, manage, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair computer networks, workstations, support server system(s), supporting hardware/software, user accounts, and computer/telephone rooms. Train/instruct users in proper use and security of all systems. Troubleshoot/repair/resolve technical problems/issues related to computer hardware/software/LAN and WAN/internet. Respond to program error messages. Provide network communications support and technical guidance. Refer major problems to vendors/technicians. Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements. Consult with others to assess/analyze/resolve computing needs and system requirements. Inspect, test, and diagnose computer equipment/systems. Plan and coordinate information technology-related equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. Provide end-user support for all applications. Plan and manage disk space for entire network. Maintain accurate inventory of all technological devices. Enter commands and activate controls on computers and equipment. Ensure backup tapes are locked in a fireproof safe.

 

Follow all company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Address guests’ service needs; assist other employees. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Serve as role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations/standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Enter and locate information using computers/ Point of Sale (POS) systems. Move up and down stairs/ramps. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.

Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.

Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

License or Certification: None
