Digital Credit Operations Lead, Doha, Qatar

We need a Digital Credit Operations Lead,

  • End-to-End Credit Operations: Own day-to-day operations from customer application and decisioning hand-offs through activation, utilisation, repayment, settlement and account closure; maintain clear ownership, hand-offs and service standards across the lifecycle.

  • Operational Controls: Design, implement and evidence preventive and detective controls; monitor exceptions and breaches; maintain procedures, process maps, checklists and control records; coordinate corrective and preventive actions.

  • Merchant Operations: Coordinate merchant and partner onboarding, configuration, training, launch readiness and ongoing support; monitor merchant service levels, transaction exceptions and settlement issues; lead resolution of operational escalations.

  • Customer Experience: Own operational customer outcomes across onboarding, purchase, repayment and servicing; monitor complaints and recurring pain points; coordinate accurate, timely resolution with Customer Care and relevant teams.

  • Repayment and Collections: Manage repayment operations, failed-payment handling, reminders, allocation of cases and collections-partner coordination; track delinquency and recoveries; ensure activities follow approved credit and customer-treatment policies.

  • Refunds, Cancellations and Disputes: Own procedures and service levels for cancellations, refunds, reversals, disputes and chargebacks; ensure adjustments are authorised, accurately processed and reconciled; analyse trends and prevent recurrence.

  • Regulatory and Policy Compliance: Ensure operational processes follow applicable regulatory requirements, approved policies and delegated authorities; maintain evidence for reviews, reporting and audits; escalate suspected breaches promptly.

  • Operational Performance Management: Define and monitor service levels, turnaround times, transaction success, productivity, quality, complaints, ageing, settlements and collections metrics; produce dashboards and drive recovery plans.

  • Incident and Escalation Management: Lead triage, containment, communication and resolution of operational incidents; maintain issue and incident registers; perform root-cause analysis; assign corrective actions and escalate material events.

  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, manual work and recurring failures; drive simplification, automation, cost efficiency and scalable processes; confirm that improvements preserve customer outcomes and control effectiveness.

  • Launch and Operational Readiness: Lead operational impact assessments, procedures, controls, training, UAT, operational acceptance, go-live and hyper-care for new products, features, merchants, repayment methods and partner changes.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Fraud, Customer Care and external partners; represent Operations in governance forums and personally drive resolution of launch-stage issues.

  • Perform any additional project, task or activity assigned or delegated by the Line Manager.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Operations Management, Accounting or a related field.

  • Strong working knowledge of consumer-lending, payment, settlement, reconciliation and customer-servicing operations.

  • Minimum 3-5 years in Digital Lending, BNPL, consumer finance or regulated financial-services operations.

  • Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification is desirable.

  • A banking, credit, collections or financial-services operations qualification is desirable.

Position Overview:

The Treasury & Banking Accountant keeps bank accounts accurate every day and makes sure every Letter of Credit (LC) and cheque is followed until the money reaches our account. You will upload
and reconcile all bank statements in Zoho Books daily, manage the LC and cheque cycle with our banks, and be the go-to person for any banking transaction across the company.

What You will do (Responsibilities) :

Bank Statements & Daily Reconciliation

  • Upload all bank statements to Zoho Books every day for every company bank account.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts daily and clear unmatched items within 48 hours.
  • Investigate unidentified receipts, bank charges, and differences, posting or requesting the correct
    entries.
  • Prepare the daily cash position by bank for the Finance team.

Letters of Credit (LCs)

  • Follow up on all new LCs from receipt until proceeds are deposited in our account.
  • Check LC terms and ensure required documents (invoice, delivery note, certificate of origin, etc.)
    match before submission.
  • Submit documents to the banks, follow up on bank review, and resolve any discrepancies before the
    LC expires.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and AR on LC status and expected collection dates.

Cheque Management

  • Deposit customer cheques at the banks and track them until cleared.
  • Handle returned cheques: record the reversal, inform AR and Sales, and follow up.
  • Maintain a cheque register with status for every cheque received and deposited.

Tracking & Banking Support

  • Keep one up-to-date tracker of all open LCs, cheques, and pending bank transactions, with status
    and expected dates.
  • Support all teams and the company with banking requests: transfers, bank letters, guarantees,
    account queries, and bank portal access.
  • Act as day-to-day contact with bank relationship managers.
  • Support month-end close and audit requests with bank reconciliations and confirmations.

Who You are (Qualifications) :

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in treasury, banking operations, or bank reconciliation.
  • Hands-on experience reconciling bank accounts daily.
  • Practical experience handling Letters of Credit (documents, bank submission, discrepancies).
  • Experience depositing and tracking cheques, including returned cheques.
  • Experience working with an ERP or accounting system.
  • Fluent Arabic and good English.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Zoho Books.
  • Experience with Saudi bank online portals (e.g., SNB, Al Rajhi Bank, Riyad Bank).
  • Basic knowledge of UCP 600 rules for LCs.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Role

The UAE Market team is seeking a Director to manage the commercialization of new products across new and existing customers within the UAE and will be responsible for advancing our share growth strategy through innovation, commercial leadership, and disciplined execution. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and entrepreneurial, with the ability to build trusted internal and external partnerships and deliver sustainable growth.

  • Deliver sales and net revenue targets for Mastercard products and services across new and existing business across the UAE market.

  • Develop and manage a sales program, in collaboration with account teams, customer solutions teams and product verticals and be resposible for the preparation and delivery of executuve level updates to track sales and inter-dependent workstreams

  • Identify customer opportunities, through the evaluation of customer strategies and white spaces and leverage insights to build bespoke sales plans to drive adoption across a diverse mix of customers and be capable of working with internal and external customers to remove obstacles and deliver sales and operational outcomes.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, in partnership with accont leads, to deliver product outcomes including, launch, customization and commercialization and identify opportunities to optimize across the customer llifecycle, in line with Mastercard’s strategic objectives.

  • Negotiate, execute, and manage customer agreements while coordinating resources and information across global and cross-functional teams.

  • Create and implement sales plans covering business development, marketing, product management, and customer engagement.

  • Guide product development, identifying and implementing relevant features and benefits in partnership with CSC, services and product teams and other internal stakeholders.

  • Build a customer marketing pipeline that strengthens portfolio performance, including acquisition and usage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales and business development for the UAE market, identifying and progressing opportunities from opportunity inception through to go live and beyond.

  • Have a strong knowledge of card economics and be able to negotiate with internal and external customers and partners that deliver strategic outcomes for mastercard

  • Recommend commercially sound strategies covering pricing, market entry, profit planning, and expense management.

  • Evaluate complex business opportunities, develop pricing strategies, and lead deal negotiations with consideration for account-specific factors and the competitive landscape.

  • Coordinate high-quality responses to complex requests for proposal within demanding timelines and across multiple markets and stakeholders.

  • Partner with global, regional, and local teams to identify segment and product opportunities and develop propositions that maximize market penetration.

  • Conduct market research and opportunity assessments to evaluate new concepts and determine the viability of products aligned with global, regional, and market strategies.

All About You

The successful candidate will bring:

  • A self-driven, organized, and proactive approach, with a strong focus on execution.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and strong commercial judgement.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering fast sales outcomes across a mix of client types (including large and small financial instituions)

  • Strong project management experience and proven track record of delivering sales and product outcomes in partnership with others

  • Strong influencing, negotiation, relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Solid payments industry experience, ideally in both business development and product management within an issuer environment, with strong knowledge of payment economics.

  • Sound knowledge of retail electronic payments and cards from an issuing or network perspective; banking or payments experience is preferred.

  • The ability to work comfortably with technology and integrate knowledge across sales, product, marketing, operations, and risk.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a small team and leverage colleagues’ expertise
