Commercial Controller, GCC, Dubai, UAE

This job is OPEN to APPLY for ALL Nationalities, unless otherwise specified.

This role supports commercial decision-making across the GCC through sales and margin analysis, pricing governance, forecasting, budgeting, and business partnering with the Sales & Marketing teams. It is also responsible for reporting and audit support, maintaining Tableau and management reports, controlling rebates and pricing policies, and providing back-up on credit management and customer payment follow-up.

What you’ll be doing:

Sales analysis

Prepare analysis of Sales, Price, Margin, and product mix for month-end closing meetings.

Analyze sales behavior and margins, make comparisons to budget, and suggest improvements.

Sales Support

Support Sales & Marketing organization with ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

Support Sales organization with project calculation for margin.

Business Partner.

Pricing

Pricing responsible for GCC incl. review of gross price list, customer margins, product pricing, discount authorities, rebates etc.

Setup and secure alignment with regional and global pricing structure.

Make regular cost analysis together with Production controller and update List prices to secure an acceptable margin level.

Creation & Updating of Pricing & Rebate Policy.

Calculation & Controlling of Customer Rebates.

Forecast

Collect and consolidate sales data for forecast and budget.

Update of sales budget in Sales Planning tool and TM1.

Reporting

Reporting all mandatory sales figures to Region, Group etc.

Responsible for supporting external auditors in ad-hoc and year-end audits.

Design and update Tableau data and reports.

Update and distribute Sales and Performance reports.

Update and send out Management Report.

Update of Consolidated Sales & Margin data.

Others

Back-up on Credit Management, customer Payment follow-up and Credit limit approvals.

What we’d love for you to have:

Your responsibilities as a senior commercial manager:

Prepare and execute approved annual commercial plans, strategies, and targets for the assigned area, while identifying and driving new short- and long-term business opportunities.

Ensure SL’s pre-qualification and market positioning on bid lists of target companies as defined in the Group Business Plan.

Conduct market and operational analysis during the “prepare for tender” phase and develop the corresponding bid strategy.

Lead and manage tender processes, including preparing and finalizing bids for submission.

Draft Board memos to obtain approval for bid submissions and contract conclusions.

Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and potential clients and other relevant stakeholders, while promoting SL’s portfolio through regular engagement to secure business.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as a senior commercial manager if you have:

Bachelor’s degree from a maritime academy or equivalent university qualification, with 5–7 years of relevant commercial management experience in the maritime industry.

Proven commercial management experience within the maritime sector, with strong understanding of commercial contracts.

Solid knowledge of tender analysis and bid preparation, supported by strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Demonstrated managerial competence, attention to detail, and accuracy in administration.

Proactive, commercially savvy, and able to work effectively under pressure with a hands-on approach.

Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage), with willingness to travel across the Middle East and experience working in multicultural environments.

Job Description

The Inside Sales Executive is responsible for qualifying leads, generating new business, and converting leads into accounts for the field sales team to manage. This role focuses on early-stage sales activity including outreach, engagement, qualification, and conversion, delivering a seamless customer experience and driving incremental revenue.

Accountabilities:

Deliver against key activity KPIs such as daily contact volume, lead-to-opportunity ratio, lead response time, opportunity-to-deal conversion, and revenue per account.

Support onboarding and account set-up for newly activated accounts, ensuring access to booking platforms, private fare agreements, and communications channels are enabled.

Proactively flag lead or account trends (e.g., common objections, pricing issues, competitor insights) to the Inside Sales Manager and relevant commercial stakeholders to inform campaign and pricing strategy.

Continuously improve sales skills through participation in enablement sessions, CRM training, and virtual selling workshops to enhance effectiveness and personal performance.

Conduct outbound prospecting activities via phone, email, and virtual channels to qualify leads, engage new contacts, and assess commercial potential across Tier 1–3 corporate and trade accounts.

Manage a portfolio of low-touch B2B accounts, ensuring structured engagement and consistent follow-up to drive account activation, upsell opportunities, and campaign responsiveness.

Execute structured outreach cadences based on lead source and segment type (e.g., event leads, dormant accounts, referrals, web enquiries), adhering to defined SLAs for first contact and follow-up.

Qualify leads effectively using agreed frameworks (e.g., BANT or custom tiering criteria), assessing account potential, booking activity, and strategic fit to determine conversion path or escalation.

Utilise Salesforce CRM to track all activities, including call notes, opportunity updates, account status, and pipeline progression. Maintain clean, complete, and up-to-date records at all times.

Drive conversions across tactical campaigns, promoting commercial offers, private fares, and incentive programs relevant to the segment or region. Work in coordination with Campaign Planning and Trade Marketing teams.

Escalate qualified, higher-value opportunities to Field Sales or Global Accounts with all relevant data and context, ensuring seamless handover and continuity of engagement.

Reactivate dormant accounts by analysing historical booking patterns, identifying re-engagement triggers, and reintroducing value propositions aligned to current business needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales or related fields required

Minimum of 4+ years in inside sales, customer service or B2B sales

CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)

Strong upselling, communication and negotiation skills, with proven track record of lead hunting, nurturing and conversion.

Highly organised and goal-oriented

Multilingual capabilities advantageous
