VP Sales, Sharjah, UAE

Vice President - Sales in our office in Sharjah.

The Vice President is responsible for dealing with complex issues for the company’s best clients. Reporting to the Sales Manager at Equiti Securities, you will be working in a team and will make a tangible impact every day by growing Equiti Securities’ portfolio of clients.

 

Responsibilities

Developing and building new relationships through various channels
Extensive network of HNWs and Partners
Generating and contacting leads to convert them
Using own industry sources and various external channels to build strong relationships
Consistently securing and growing client numbers by demonstrating a clear point of difference in experience, market knowledge and personal focus over the competition
Achieving sales targets
Being a trusted point of contact to clients on market and trading relating matters
Assisting in planning and executing client events as required
Providing training to potential and existing clients on financial assets and trading platforms
Collaborating with key internal departments, particularly marketing, operations, and development teams to gain support for projects
Completing required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame
 

Skills & Competencies

Deep understanding and experience with financial products such as FX, Equities, CFDs, etc.
Strong knowledge of sales planning and various direct, indirect and alternative sales channels management
Strong analytical and numerical acumen
CISI certificate (Wealth Management or Introduction to Securities and Investments)
Sales-oriented motivator for himself and colleagues
Great team player, open to mentoring and share knowledge with others
Influential, well-organized personality with good follow-up skills
Professional in English and Arabic
 

Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar.
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration is preferred
5+ years of professional experience in a similar role as an Account Manager and/or dealing with high-net-worth clients in the FX Industry

Overview:

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is the first national applied University in the State of Qatar, offering applied Bachelors and Master’s degrees in addition to certificates and diplomas in various fields. UDST has over 50 programs in the fields of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, Business Management, Computing and Information Technology, Health Sciences, Continuing and Professional Education and more.


With more than 700 staff and over 8,000 students, UDST is the destination for top-notch applied and experiential learning. The University is recognized for its student-centered learning and state-of-the-art facilities. Our faculty are committed to delivering pedagogically-sound learning experiences with incorporation of innovative technological interventions, to further enhance students’ skills and help develop talented graduates that can effectively contribute to a knowledge-based economy and make Qatar’s National Vision 2030 a reality.


To provide executive-level oversight for academic affairs, including the provision of leadership for the

implementation of the institution's Teaching and Learning Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive-level leadership and direction for a University-wide comprehensive strategy for Academic Affairs which complements and supports the academic and technical and vocational mission of UDST.
  • Advise the President in developing overall academic plans, policies, and procedures for the execution of the strategic plan, mission, vision, and goals of UDST.
  • Build internal and external relationships to further the TVET mission of UDST and be responsible for serving on local, regional, and international committees, boards and/or task force teams.
  • Provide leadership in the identification, development, and maintenance of high quality and market-appropriate technical and applied programs.
  • Contribute to the formulation of UDST’s strategy.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the academic strategy in alignment with UDST’s strategy through division initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of policies, procedures, processes and guidelines related to Institutional Delivery and Academic.
  • Monitor performance of the Academics Division vis-Γ -vis established KPIs on a regular basis.
  • Develop and monitor the academic annual budget in collaboration with Support Services Division.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships and working relations with other higher education institutions, K-12 community groups, industry stakeholders, and ministerial bodies.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the design, development, implementation, coordination, assessment and continuous improvement of high-quality experiential learning and academic excellence.


Candidates must demonstrate experience within internationally recognized higher education institutions, and possess a strong understanding of global academic standards and accreditation frameworks. Experience working within culturally diverse environments is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

Education:


An earned PhD, awarded from an accredited institution in an appropriate field such as Engineering, Information Technology or a Computer Science is required.


The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline, together with substantial senior leadership experience within higher education. The role requires a proven ability to lead complex academic operations, drive Academic excellence, and support innovation in teaching, learning, research, and industry engagement.


Experience:


Minimum of 15 years of total experience out of which, 5 years of experience in a similar leadership

position, at a university or college campus undergoing rapid growth and development.

  • Experience with reviewing and/ or facilitating the review of faculty promotion portfolios.
  • Significant experience in building and sustaining highly productive leadership teams, and in inspiring others to achieve excellence.


Language:


Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic language is required.

Job Description

Job Summary:

FX & Rates is looking for a team player to join the desk and add immediate value to this dynamic unit with an experience in the EM space, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt. You will be reporting into a currency head and trained by the whole team with the aim of managing flow and taking measured risk across a number of different currencies. We are looking for someone who has a lot of energy, enthusiasm and initiative, who can learn on the job and support sales in order to support the entire business.
The G10 FX & Rates desk is a multi-currency, multi product desk which aims to facilitate customer flow in order to grow the FAB franchise. It requires active management to leverage this flow as well as to add alpha through directional positioning of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing Risk within the given parameters and in a profitable manner
  • Pricing Deals with the mentality to win deals and support the business
  • Contribute to maintaining FAB’s position as a top market maker in the MENA region space
  • Preparing marketing material and collaborate with distribution
  • Travelling where necessary
  • Covering long shifts
  • Capability of handling large flows/risk
  • Maintaining a high degree of discipline when trading
  • Generating trade ideas and writing market updates
  • Market Counterparties
    • How Often: Daily
    • Method: Verbal, Writing and in person
    • Purpose: provide pricing/market our products and capabilities/execute trades
  • Internal Customers
    • How Often: Regular
    • Method: Verbal, Writing and in person
    • Purpose: provide pricing/execute trades/give commentary and viewpoint on market conditions
  • External Customers
    • How Often: adhoc basis
    • Method: Verbal, Writing and in person
    • Purpose: provide support to respective ICC RM in the enhancement of the client relationship

Requirement and Qualification:

  • Education: Degree level ideally Bsc./BA. Finance/Economics/Science
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 Years in markets
  • Proven track record of teamwork
  • Proven track record on managing risk effectively and delivering consistent financial performance
  • Exceptional technical skills and product knowledge
  • Market Analytical Capabilities (Technical and fundamental)
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Ability to operate at a high level under extreme pressure
  • Team oriented

  • Experts excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Highly numerical
