Assistant Manager – Accounting & Compliance, RAK, UAE

Job Purpose:

The role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements, while maintaining and updating the Accounting Policy and Procedure Manual to ensure governance and consistency across all entities. It drives process improvements and automation across key finance workflows by leveraging emerging AI-powered technologies and actively supports the Oracle Cloud ERP implementation. The role also serves as a trusted advisor for Group entities, providing guidance on accounting, compliance and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end standalone and consolidated financials in compliance with IFRS, IDO policies and procedures and statutory requirements.

Accounting Policy and Procedure Manual: Maintain, review and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with IFRS, IPSAS and local regulations; drive standardisation and governance across all entities.

Process Improvement & Automation: Identify, evaluate and implement enhancements across key finance and compliance processes, leveraging AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude AI to streamline workflows and drive operational efficiency.

IFRS Compliance: Provide expert accounting advice to entities and on special projects. Design and deliver structured IFRS training programmes for finance and non-finance stakeholders, incorporating practical case studies and timely updates on new standards and amendments.

ERP Implementation: Actively participate in the Oracle Cloud ERP implementation, supporting requirement gathering, process mapping, testing, data migration and post-implementation optimisation.

Support Group Entities: Act as a trusted advisor for Group entities on accounting, compliance and reporting matters, providing guidance on IFRS, internal controls and best practices for process improvements.

Educational Qualifications:

CA/ ACCA/ CPA from a recognized professional institution

Qualified Chartered Accountant with 10+ years’ experience in techno-functional role

Well versed with AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude AI to streamline workflows and drive operational efficiency and its practical implementation in finance function

Be able to understand the accounting end to end processes to drive process improvements project to bring in efficiency

Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive and influence business solutions

Experience working at a fast-moving, global company with international subsidiaries

Strong technical / functional accounting background

Self-starter with experience of managing projects and monthly processes to tight deadlines

Very strong communication skills, ability to develop good working relationships, adept at working individually and as part of a cohesive team

Attention to detail and ability to analyse data and problem-solving capability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive and influence business solutions

Job Description

Major duties:

Lead and manage projects or work-streams of a small to medium size and complexity (including analyzing and interpreting data, drafting report findings and attending client meetings)

Contribute to the planning and delivery of engagements including work plans, timelines, project management, and resource allocation

Liaise effectively with clients whilst working on engagements and act as an ‘ambassador’ for KPMG

Own deliverables of an engagement/project with minimal input of project leadership

Complete report writing, presentations and proposal preparation with minimal guidance

Develop expertise and knowledge of a variety of clients and markets

Produce and deliver high-quality engagement outcomes and deliverables for our clients, as well as building and maintaining relationships with clients, to develop a strong professional network over time

Identify risks and opportunities for improvement and make strategic and tactical recommendations to assist our client’s in achieving their short-term and long-term goals

Create a positive learning culture. Coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop through effectively supervising, and mentoring

Contribute to practice and risk management, including thought leadership and business development activities

Education requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance

Professional accounting and/or finance qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CFA)

Work experience requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of financial accounting experience in a relevant organization (preferably in big four accounting firms - audit and/or accounting advisory teams)

Experience in MENA market highly recommended

Demonstrate expertise of industry (Energy, Healthcare, Financial Services, and/or Public sector) leading practices

Strong awareness of non-technical accounting matters (corporate finance, ESG, deals, tax, legal, etc.

Technical skills requirements:

Extensive technical accounting experience in IFRS and IPSAS

Strong analytical skills (an eye for detail and awareness of broader business issues)

Deep understanding of finance business processes and finance controls

Advance knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with Oracle, SAP, Power BI, Visio, Blueworks, Aries will be preferred

Interpersonal skills:

Ability to articulate views and ideas clearly, both written and verbal

Ability to work effectively, and collaboratively as part of a project team

Strong leadership and team-building skills

Sound decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Good presentation skills encompassing the ability to convey complex concepts accurately and succinctly

Use diverse sets of inputs to develop a broad perspective on business and people issues

The Financial Controller is responsible for managing internal and external financial reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, as well as preparing sales reports for internal and Group requirements. The role supports trade and promotional investment analysis across products and customers, contributes to month-end closing activities, and ensures accurate reporting of trade programs and accruals. It also involves supporting budget and forecast preparation, managing documentation workflows, and contributing to audit processes in line with company standards.

Main Responsibilities:

In Financial Planning and Forecasting, you will support the financial planning cycle, contributing to the preparation of the annual budget in line with company objectives and guidelines. You will collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to consolidate inputs and ensure that financial plans are accurate and aligned with business priorities, while continuously updating forecasts based on performance and highlighting risks and opportunities.

Within Financial Reporting and Analysis, you will manage monthly reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial data. You will analyze performance across brands, SKUs, customers, and business lines, evaluating results against budget and identifying key drivers. You will also oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring adherence to timelines and high standards of data accuracy and consistency.

Under Profitability and Investment Analysis, you will support business decision-making through detailed financial evaluations, including analysis of new products, customer initiatives, and channel performance. You will assess the return on investment of trade and promotional activities to ensure effective allocation of resources and alignment with profitability objectives.

In Financial Accounting and Control, you will support trade program accruals, prepare adjusting entries, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. You will contribute to cost-center analysis and allocation, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting across the organization.

Through Audit and Compliance, you will support the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring financial processes are aligned with local regulations and Group standards while contributing to the successful completion of audit activities.

Finally, in Controlling and Performance Monitoring, you will analyze trade programs and customer/channel performance, with a focus on top-line and gross margin evolution. You will identify variances, provide clear explanations, and deliver actionable insights to support management decision-making and drive business performance.

About You:

3–5 years’ experience in Financial Controlling, with strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within FMCG.

A strong analytical mindset, with the ability to manage data, evaluate performance, and support business decision-making. Solid understanding of accounting standards and financial performance analysis, with proficiency in SAP and Excel.

A collaborative and detail-oriented profile, with the ability to work across teams and manage priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

Position Statement:

The RTR Specialist Banking is responsible for providing support to hotels supported Finance Centre of Excellence (COE). In particular, is responsible for reconciling all bank accounts for entities and its related parties on a timely basis and in-line with Hilton Global Policies.

The role reports to the Record to Report Supervisor.

Position Summary:

They are responsible for highlighting any omissions, erroneous and other variant entries to the entities and its related parties so that investigations can be conducted.

Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation

Any chargebacks, refunds, bounce-backs of funds are to be highlighted before reconciliation occurs and all matters related to bank reconciliation must be timely, accurately, and effectively be resolved.

Completing weekly and month end bank recs for hotels and getting DoF/FM approval

Updating the GCC Navision Vendor Master File following hotel requests

Other tasks as required by business operations.

Qualifications

Possess the ability to analyse large amounts of data / information efficiently and accurately

Ability to work cohesively with others, both in the office and remotely with hotel Team Members

Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal direct supervision, within initial training period after employee begins work

Strong Accounting knowledge

Strong Excel knowledge

Financial and DMS Systems knowledge and interest in learning new systems. In particular, Knowledge of Navision & Docuware.

Required Qualifications

The Team Member must be educated to a high-school level as a minimum, and previously have been exposed to bank reconciliation processes.

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in a Finance team

Preferred Qualifications

Education: University graduate and/or accounting bachelor

Preferred Experience: 4 years in a hotel Finance team
