We need a Claims Processing Officer

Key responsibilities/What you do:

• Operate within and meet the conditions of company service standards, clear to zero, to guarantee customer satisfaction and retention.
• Review and handle claims according to the established standard procedure.
• Support the team and departmental productivity goals to meet the agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA) and deliver exceptional customer service
• Provide accurate and professional responses to client inquiries, and if needed, collaborate with other departments to ensure prompt and efficient resolution.
• Engage in departmental medical training to broaden understanding of medical terminology and procedures, and enhance proficiency in claims processing skills.
• Ensures adaptability in various claims handling work-related tasks to be able to facilitate a multi-tasking role.
• Ensures that high quality targets (standard of work performance) are achieved at all times.
• Support the Team Leader to drive engagement within the Team
• Other Ad hoc duties as required

AI READINESS Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use

Key requirements/What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in any Medical field, Paramedical, Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a customer focused environment, ideally in clinical, paramedical roles or TPA or insurance roles.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• A highly customer-focused individual with strong interpersonal, communicative and accuracy skills.
• Team player
• Physically fit to carry out duties.
• Ability to demonstrate sounds work ethics.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines and service standards
• Legally permitted to work in the country of operations.
• Hybrid working option available as per business requirements.

The Opportunity

The Senior General Risk Management Analyst plays a key role in supporting the effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of risks across the organization. The role is responsible for analyzing the Company's overall risk profile, including operational, market, credit, liquidity, and insurance risks, and providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making and risk mitigation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a risk professional to contribute to the enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, support regulatory compliance, and partner with business leaders to strengthen risk awareness and resilience across the organization. The position also supports the preparation of risk reporting, risk assessments, governance activities, and regulatory engagements. This role is subject to prior regulatory approval by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Gulf Head of Risk and Compliance, the candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the business to balance the desire for sustainable growth with the need to maximize risk adjusted returns within the risk appetite of MetLife.

• To act as the approved risk control function for the Qatar operations and ensure effective implementation of local risk management requirements including but not limited to the QCB Executive Regulations
• Ensure effective implementation of risk management regulatory requirements and ongoing adherence to applicable regulatory expectations.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions and responses related to risk management matters.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Risk Management Framework, including the periodic review and update of risk management policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Facilitate risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting across business functions.
• Coordinate and facilitate the annual Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA) process across business functions.
• Ensure key risks, controls, emerging risks, and remediation plans are appropriately documented and assessed.
• Challenge and review risk assessments submitted by business and functional owners.
• Liaise with regional and global stakeholders to support top-down and bottom-up risk assessments.
• Manage the operational risk event reporting process, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Monitor operational risk action plans and support issue remediation efforts.
• Develop and deliver risk management awareness and training sessions to promote a strong risk culture and enhance understanding of risk management requirements across the organization.
• Support the development, monitoring, and reporting of Risk Appetite Statements (RAS) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Monitor risk exposures against approved limits and thresholds.
• Coordinate risk committee materials, presentations, and meeting documentation.
• Track committee actions and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
• Monitor emerging risks and key external trends, and provide insights and reporting to management and governance committees on potential business impacts and mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with regional and global risk teams to ensure alignment with enterprise requirements.
• Provide risk oversight and guidance for business initiatives, projects, and change programs.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in insurance industry as Risk Manager or equivalent
• Bachelors/ master’s degree in business administration, law or related field
• A recognized risk management professional qualification at certificate level.
• Experience and understanding of risk management processes.
• A good understanding of the “Three Lines of Defence” approach to risk management.
• Strong business acumen.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Confident and enthusiastic self-starter, able to challenge and influence others at all levels.
• Time management and prioritization skills.
• Flexible and practical.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and critical thinking.
• Governance, Risk, and Control mindset.
• Strong attention to details.

Preferred Qualifications

• Arabic speaker preferred.
• Fluency in AI.

Description

The Head of Corporate Insurance plays a critical role in protecting QR Group’s financial resilience, operational continuity and balance sheet through the strategic design, placement and management of aviation and non-aviation insurance programmes. Reporting to the Vice President Corporate Insurance, the role ensures that insurable risks are identified, quantified, transferred or retained in line with QR Group’s risk appetite, governance standards and the Chief Financial Officer’s requirements for cost-effective coverage, premium discipline, claims recovery, risk visibility and assurance over material exposures. The role provides specialist insurance leadership, market insight and ERM-aligned reporting to support informed executive decision-making, safeguard Group assets and liabilities, and strengthen the organisation’s preparedness for major operational, contractual and financial risk events.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QR Group’s aviation and non-aviation insurance strategy to ensure effective risk transfer, alignment with the Group’s risk appetite and resilience against material insurable exposures.
• Lead the design, placement and renewal of cost-effective insurance programmes that provide appropriate protection for QR Group assets, operations, liabilities and strategic business activities.
• Provide strategic insurance advice to senior management and key stakeholders to support informed decision-making on risk retention, risk transfer, claims strategy and emerging insurance market developments.
• Embed insurance risk reporting within QR Group’s Enterprise Risk Management framework by monitoring key risk indicators, programme performance and material claims trends.
• Strengthen governance over insurance procurement, policy administration, broker and insurer relationships, and claims oversight to ensure compliance, transparency and value for the Group.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the VP or SVP.
• Manage the end-to-end placement, renewal and administration of QR Group insurance policies to ensure continuous and appropriate cover for aviation and non-aviation risks.
• Coordinate claims notification, documentation, follow-up and settlement activities with internal stakeholders, brokers, insurers and loss adjusters to support timely recovery and effective claims outcomes.
• Maintain accurate insurance records, policy schedules, certificates, premium data and renewal trackers to support audit readiness, compliance and business continuity.
• Liaise with business units to assess insurable exposures, validate coverage requirements and obtain underwriting information required for policy placement and renewal.
• Monitor broker and insurer service delivery, policy compliance, premium payments and claims progress to ensure agreed service standards and contractual obligations are met.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
• Deputise for the Vice President in key responsibilities including attendance at the Group Emergency Control Centre (GECC)
• Support the VP Corporate Insurance in translating the Group insurance strategy into annual operating plans, renewal priorities and measurable departmental deliverables.
• Prepare insurance programme updates, claims summaries, renewal recommendations and management reports for review by the VP Corporate Insurance and onward escalation to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain effective working relationships with brokers, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters and other service providers to support competitive placement outcomes and efficient claims handling.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
• ACII qualified or progression towards ACII
• Experience within the aviation, transport, logistics or complex multinational corporate environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk protection, premium cost, claims recovery and value-for-money outcomes.
• Ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders, including Finance leadership, Legal, Procurement, Risk, Operations and external insurance market partners.
• Working knowledge of insurance analytics, exposure data, benchmarking, claims trends and management information to support evidence-based recommendations.
• Extensive experience in corporate, aviation or complex commercial insurance, including programme design, placement, renewal management, claims oversight and insurance governance.
• Proven experience leading, supervising and developing insurance professionals, including workload prioritisation, performance management, coaching, succession planning and quality assurance of team outputs.
• Demonstrated experience managing brokers, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, consultants and other third-party suppliers, including service performance, contractual deliverables, escalation management and value-for-money outcomes.
• Strong experience preparing executive-level insurance reports, renewal recommendations, claims briefings and risk insights for senior management, finance leadership and governance forums.

• Experience working with Finance, Legal, Procurement, Risk, Safety, Security and operational stakeholders to assess insurable exposures, negotiate insurance requirements and resolve complex coverage or claims matters.

If the CV is not made as per the RULES of the ATS, the information will get messed up in the database. In the image below, 'PMP' has gone into the 'Mobile Number' column. The Mobile Number '052 1234567' has gone into the 'Main Skill' column.

So a recruiter searching for a candidate with PMP certification, will never find this person, in spite of his 'CV information' existing in the database...
