ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Manager – HIA Operations to take full accountability for day-to-day airport operations at Hamad International Airport (HIA).

In this role, you will act as the designated senior authority on shift, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient airport operations while delivering world-class service quality.

You will also play a critical leadership role during emergencies, with the authority to restrict or cease operations when required for safety and security

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

1. Airport Operations Leadership

Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver excellence in safety, security, service, and quality
Act as the key liaison with state authorities during operational shifts
Ensure all stakeholders (airlines, agencies, partners) are continuously informed
Oversee efficient allocation of staff, equipment, and resources
Drive improvements to enhance Airport Service Quality (ASQ) performance

2. Operational Control & Performance

Oversee Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) performance on shift
Ensure KPIs and SLAs are consistently met
Provide executive-level operational reports to senior management
Maintain strong working relationships with airlines and station managers

3. Emergency & Incident Management

Lead response to accidents, incidents, and disruptions
Implement Airport Emergency Plan procedures
Drive root cause analysis and prevention actions
Ensure business continuity during infrastructure failures

4. Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

Set and align team objectives with business goals
Lead, develop, and coach teams, including national talent development
Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
Represent HIA in operational meetings and decision-making forums

5. Safety, Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with:
- ICAO standards and airport regulations
- Safety, security, and environmental policies
- Data protection requirements across operations
Take ownership of incident reporting and workplace safety culture

Qualification

What We Are Looking For

Requirement:

Without a Degree:
- Grade 10 - 12 Operational Positions: High School / Vocational Qualification with Minimum 12 years of job-related experience OR
With a Degree:
Grade 10 - Non-Operation Positions : Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level
- Minimum 8 years relevant experience
- Post graduate degree in a related field will be an advantage
- Attended Airline courses on Passenger Services, Ramp Operations Baggage and Cargo
- Experience in senior management role, process reengineering, solution design, project management change management, demonstrated leadership and motivation skills
- Significant experience gained in a Commercial Management Team
- Seasoned professional in all Airport Operational areas
- Airport/Airline Control Centre experience preferred
- Middle East experience preferred
- Preferably have attended Aerodrome Safety Management courses and relevant ICAO/ACI/IATA training
- Hub Control experience preferred
- Comprehensive experience on Airside Operations / Terminal Operations and Resource Planning
Job Specific Skills:
- Specialist knowledge of Airport Operations Airside and Landside
- Full Driving License
- Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of ICAO Standards and recommended practices (SARPS) on Airport operations
- Excellent knowledge of Aerodrome Emergency procedures
- Computer literate
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members

Job Purpose

To support and strengthen the organization’s compliance monitoring system by conducting independent audits and inspections across:

• Training operations

• FSTD (Flight Simulation Training Device) operations and maintenance activities

• Approved Maintenance Training Organization (CAR-147)

• Licensing and regulatory compliance

Key Result Responsibilities

Compliance Audits & Monitoring

Plan, conduct, and lead risk-based internal audits across operational and technical domains

Develop and maintain annual audit programs covering:

CAR-ORA training activities

FSTD qualification, maintenance, and serviceability

CAR-147 training and examination standards

Perform compliance inspections of facilities, simulators, workshops, and training devices

Evaluate compliance with:

GCAA regulations (CAR-ORA, CAR-FCL, CAR-147, FSTD)

Approved manuals (CMSM, MTOE, FSTD, training procedures)

Conduct process, product, and system audits

FSTD Oversight

Audit FSTD operations and maintenance programs, including:

Qualification and validation processes

Preventive and corrective maintenance

Configuration control and software updates

Defect reporting and resolution

Verify compliance with GCAA FSTD requirements and OEM standards

Assess competence of FSTD technicians and instructors

Ensure integrity of simulator training records and usage logs

CAR-147 Maintenance Training Oversight

Conduct audits of:

Basic and type training programs

Examination and assessment systems

Practical training and workshop activities

Instructor qualifications and approvals

Verify compliance with CAR-147 requirements and approved MTOE procedures

Assess:

Training effectiveness and outcomes

Examination security and integrity

Certification processes

Audit Reporting & Follow-Up

Prepare structured audit reports including:

Findings (non-compliance / observations)

Root cause analysis

Corrective action recommendations

Monitor implementation and verify effectiveness of corrective actions

Maintain audit records and compliance databases

Licensing Oversight

Act as focal point for GCAA licensing matters

Verify compliance with licensing requirements for:

Flight crew

Instructors

Maintenance personnel

Continuous Improvement & Safety

Promote Just Culture and proactive safety reporting

Support enhancement of the Compliance Monitoring System (CMS)

Identify improvement opportunities aligned with risk-based oversight

Education and Relevant Experience

Bachelor’s degree in aviation engineering, or equivalent

Minimum 5 years of relevant aviation compliance / QA experience, including technical environments

Proven experience in:

FSTD operations or maintenance (mandatory for technical role)

OR CAR-147 / maintenance training environment

Experience with regulatory audits (GCAA, EASA, ICAO frameworks preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

Strong knowledge of:

GCAA CAR-ORA, CAR-FCL, CAR-147

FSTD regulations and qualification requirements

Aviation Quality Management Systems

Understanding of:

Aircraft systems (basic level)

Training device engineering principles

Familiarity with:

MTOE, FSTD manuals, and quality procedures

SMS integration within compliance system

Certifications

Lead Auditor Certification (ISO 9001 / Aviation Audit)

Aviation Compliance / Safety Certification

FSTD or Technical Maintenance related training / certification

Description

About the Role:

We are recruiting for Senior Cargo Operations Agent for Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The selected candidate will provide Cargo Operations and Customer Service Functions including interaction with Customers and GHA for both import and export cargo. Secure proper Operational and Customer Service support to enable station to meet the Cargo Target. Ensure full compliance at all times with all Safety and Security Regulations and procedures as per Host State and Company Requirements. Identify needs and improve Cargo Service and operational performance for station.

Accountabilities

Support the immediate supervisor in developing operational plan and to provide quality customer service and surpass revenue targets
Liaising with Local Ground Handling Agents and with Head office Cargo Department to ensure/ enhance a high quality service provided by QR both import and export.
To oversee the GHA routines in order to pursue smooth running of operational activities.
Support import Customers for clearance of their cargo.
Liaising with HQ DOH and/or origin stations for necessary support.
Flight planning with maximum utilization of the Flight Capacity, Control and Operation Export & Import. Maintain a close coordination between QR Space control and customers by ensuring their shipments are transferred, delivered on time, correct priority given to shipments and for maximum utilization of space on aircraft.
Coordination with customers/ Cargo Claims representatives at Head Office, handling of discrepancies at stations and in all Administrative Issues related to stations.
To disseminate all Cargo related information for updating customers regarding customs, governmental and health authorities rules and to HO to comply with regulations and to avoid penalties, destruction, etc.
Ensure that notifications are sent officially on Cargo Arrival Information, to Freight forwarders/ agents/ direct customers to ensure the Cargo does not stay under airlines custody for long period, avoid damages and for space availability at the warehouse.

To be successful in this role you will need:

Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification with minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Understanding of Cargo Operations/ Acceptance/ Office (admin)/ Warehouse/ Ramp/ Cargo Procedures export and import.
Knowledge in Cargo Sales will be an added advantage.
Command of English language.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will assist the Engineer in carrying out airframe and engine maintenance tasks on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft. The role includes supporting inspections, repairs, defect rectification, and component replacement to ensure aircraft serviceability and operational readiness.

The position is responsible for performing assigned maintenance activities and recording completed work accurately and in a timely manner, in full compliance with Air Arabia procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, maintaining the required standards of safety and airworthiness.

Key Result Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

Reviews assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge to gain full understanding of the work, priorities, documentation requirements and cautions, prior to starting work.

Prepares and performs scheduled aircraft maintenance according to assigned task cards, ensuring that the required documentation, parts, tools and GSE are obtained and used per issued instructions.

Carries out aircraft test and inspection tasks to the standard necessary to fully identify and record any defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

Carries out repairs, component replacements and tests as instructed by assigned task cards fully in accordance with approved data and procedures and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

Ensures proper tooling / equipment is drawn from stores to perform tasks, returning all of it in good condition following completion of work.

Regularly reports the status of assigned tasks to the Engineer-in-Charge and alerts him or her to any problems with aircraft condition or with the execution of the work.

Demonstrates high level of consideration to housekeeping standards in all tasks performed.

Safety

Manages the safety of own assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring all published mandatory precautions are taken prior to commencing work and during task execution.

Takes positive steps to protect self and other persons in the area of the maintenance activity from any possible injury, including the use of proper GSE and protective equipment.

Pays attention to human factors aspects of maintenance, ensuring that work interruption procedures are followed and that adequate access and lighting is used for maintenance and inspections.

Reputation and Teamwork

Internal Customer Service: provides helpful information and support to own team and to other department personnel involved with managing scheduled maintenance checks

Representing Air Arabia: presents a positive and competent image of technical professionalism to other companies’ personnel and ABY customers.

Maintains positive awareness to the cost of aircraft maintenance including use of time and materials. Minimises unnecessary waste of consumable material and part repair cost by avoiding unnecessary damage and repeat work during maintenance.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

Qualified and experienced Civil Aircraft Maintenance Technician.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to a good standard for technical communications.

Ability to use computer (Microsoft Office).

Ability to obtain UAE Driver’s License.

Work Experience

At least 2 years’ experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.

At least 2 years’ experience in Line/ Base Maintenance environment.

Able to demonstrate solid basic understanding of Airframe and Engine Maintenance theory and practice.
