Document Controller, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Document Controller to support our marine and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain project documentation and records in accordance with project procedures.

Control the receipt, registration, distribution, and filing of project documents.

Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, technical submissions, drawings, RFIs, method statements, material submittals, and inspection documents.

Maintain document registers and ensure documents are properly tracked and updated.

Coordinate document reviews and ensure documents are distributed to the relevant project team members.

Monitor document status, revisions, approvals, and outstanding actions.

Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy filing systems.

Ensure the latest approved drawings and documents are available to the project team.

Support the preparation and submission of transmittals and official correspondence.

Maintain records of contractor and project submissions and follow up on overdue documents.

Coordinate with the Contractor, Client, Engineer, and project team regarding document control requirements.

Support project closeout by maintaining and compiling final documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, test records, and handover documents.

Ensure document control procedures are followed throughout the project.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.

Relevant experience as a Document Controller on construction, marine, or infrastructure projects.

Good knowledge of document control procedures and construction documentation.

Experience with Aconex, SharePoint, EDMS, or similar document management systems.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Strong attention to detail and good document tracking skills.

UAE construction/infrastructure experience is preferred.

Good communication and coordination skills.

If the CV is not made as per the RULES of the ATS, the information will get messed up in the database. In the image below, 'PMP' has gone into the 'Mobile Number' column. The Mobile Number '052 1234567' has gone into the 'Main Skill' column.

So a recruiter searching for a candidate with PMP certification, will never find this person, in spite of his 'CV information' existing in the database...

...And, he will wonder why he gets rejected in spite of being a PERFECT MATCH for the Job.
