At Wilhelmsen Port Services, we provide our customers with peace of mind by handling their cargo, vessels, and crew. With over 75,000 port calls per year, we safely send a ship out to sea every 7 minutes somewhere in the world. We combine local expertise with strict global standards to ensure our customers’ port calls are handled as efficiently and safely as possible.
Our vision is to shape the maritime industry, and we continuously develop new and improved solutions for our customers—such as last-mile drone delivery.
About the role
We are looking for an energetic colleague for mid-level leadership operational role within our Port Operations Department. The role will be responsible to manage overall service operations continually driving service quality of resources and efficient services provided to ship-owners, charterers, ship masters, terminals, shippers, receivers, relevant authorities, and service providers within designated ports and Oman geography.
Main responsibilities
Proven experience for operations of branch office.
Proven leadership experience.
Proven sales Metrics & track record of sales.
Resolve service complaints and maintain good communication with network partners and port authorities.
Control local budgets, manage cash ledgers, track receivables, and report performance to top management.
Supervise, train, and guide branch staff to ensure efficient task delegation and high productivity.
Must have strong sales, management, and customer service skills.
Proactive in networking to increase revenue and build relationships.
Proven experience in serving dry bulk cargo and diverse break bulk cargo.
Role Accountabilities
This position will be measured against:
Ensure consistent high level of accuracy of deliverables.
Meet or exceed annual KPI’s targets for Port Services performance
Qualifications
Maritime background and experience from Ships Agency Operations.
Good communication skills and command of the in English language (oral and written).
Process and system understanding.
Self-motivated and result orientated.
Proactive and possesses ability to anticipate issue to facilitate preventive measures.
Ability to work under pressure.
Problem solving skills with ability to make fast and sound judgement.
Ability to effectively plan & direct an operation without compromising on safety to personnel and vessel.
Good motivator and team leadership skills.
Familiar with Port & local Authorities regulations, procedures and governing tariffs.
Computer literate.
