We need a Senior Finance Manager
Job Summary
Prepares and implements ADVETI’s financial plans and strategy in line with the goals and objectives of senior management.
Ensures the establishment of financial and commercial principles, systems, procedures and practices and ensure the timely preparation of financial and management reports and forecasts to senior management.
Ensures the formulation of budgetary policies, procedures and processes, and that budget compilation takes place on a timely basis every year.
Provides sound financial advice to the Director Support Services, Director General, Board of Trustees and other senior management colleagues.
Reviews financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and oversees the preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize the current and projected financial position of the company.
Reviews and authorize contracts, orders, and vouchers within discretionary authorities prior to settlement.
Monitors financial transactions vis-Γ -vis projected cash and fund’s flows and initiates appropriate retrieval measures if required.
Ensures that appropriate retrieval measures are taken relating to the accounting areas, based on reports submitted by Internal / External Auditors.
Maintains ongoing and harmonious relations with relevant governmental agencies and ADVETI’s banking channels.
Oversees the processing of payments and invoices for materials & procurement and other department purchases and orders.
Scrutinizes operational and other management reports and prepares high-level (financial) management analysis for decision-making.
Participates in the preparation of operating expenditure budget for his area of operations and monitors budget utilization.
Directs the budget preparation and review cycles efficiently by ensuring the timely and accurate compilation of the annual business unit budget, semi-annual forecasts, monthly mid-quarter updates, quarterly close process and long term plan.
Provides reasoned recommendations on capital and operating budgets for ADVETI.
Monitors expenses against approved budgets under various heads of accounts / businesses and recommends suitable action where allocated budget is exhausted.
Monitors staff numbers and competency levels within the finance function and initiates appropriate retrieval measures for efficiency.
Ensures that reports from external auditors have been verified and reviewed by senior management.
Obtains adequate insurance coverage for the company’s assets.
Guides department managers in all financial issues involving efficient planning, co-ordination, adherence to budget target / work schedules, etc.
Creates and maintains financial analyses reporting and ensures they prompt and accurate to enable effective decision making by Top Management.
Performs special projects and ad-hoc financial modeling as requested by the senior management.
Provides effective leadership of Finance staff to facilitate their growth and increased knowledge of the business.
Keeps the Director – Support Services informed about budget situation results and profitability including any major developments.
Note:The principal accountabilities listed above are an illustrative list and not an exhaustive list. Additional responsibilities may be added from time to time depending on organizational requirements.
Language:
Fluency in the English language, Arabic desirable.
Experience:
8 – 10 years’ experience in the all aspects of finance functions of a reputed educational institution in the GCC of which a minimum of 3 years at a Senior Management level heading the function.
