Key details about the role and the candidate
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering function, ensuring that all technical deliverables are completed to the highest quality standards while meeting project schedules and business objectives. You will provide technical leadership, manage resources, support continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Approve engineering drawings, calculations, material requisitions (MRs), and technical documentation.
- Review engineering design inputs and outputs.
- Assign tasks and allocate resources within the engineering department.
- Approve design changes and technical solutions.
- Stop work or escalate issues where non-compliance or safety risks are identified.
- Approve engineering tools, software, and methodologies.
- Participate in supplier technical evaluations and approval processes.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are accurate, compliant, and completed on schedule.
- Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and performance.
- Coordinate effectively with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' relevant experience within the oil & gas, fabrication, or manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex engineering projects.
- Extensive experience working with API and ASME standards.
- Experience working within regulated quality management systems and client-driven environments.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop engineering personnel.
- Resource planning and workload management capability.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and industry standards.
- Expertise in API, ASME, and ISO requirements.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PV Elite, and related applications.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems, including API Q1 and ISO 9001.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective project planning and organisational skills.
- Risk assessment and decision-making capability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' relevant engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a management or supervisory position.
- Mandatory experience working with API and ASME standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering design, project delivery, and quality management systems.
