JOB SUMMARY

 

The Director of Human Resources will report directly to the property General Manager, with a dotted-line (functional) reporting relationship to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources and will be an integral member of the property executive committee. As a member of the Human Resources organization, he/she contributes a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for a designated property. He/she will be accountable for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner. He/she generally works with considerable independence, developing processes to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader business objectives. Additionally, he/she utilizes a Human Resource Business Plan aligned with property and brand strategies to deliver HR services that enable business success.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

 

Education and Experience

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 4 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

OR

• 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Managing the Human Resources Strategy

• Executes and follows-up on engagement survey related activities.

• Champions and builds the talent management ranks in support of property and region diversity strategy.

• Translates business priorities into property Human Resources strategies, plans and actions

• Implements and sustains Human Resources initiatives at the property.

• Coordinates the human capital review process at property(s) and leads succession planning activities on property and in the market, as appropriate.

• Leads the assessment of property(s) leadership pipeline through the human capital review process and assists with follow-up.

• Creates value through proactive approaches that will affect performance outcome or control cost.

• Monitors effective use of myHR by property managers and employees.

• Leads and participates in succession management and workforce planning.

• Responsible for Human Resources strategy and execution.

• Serves as key change manager for initiatives that have high employee impact.

• Attends owners meetings as a member of the property executive committee and provides meaning or context to the Human Resources results (e.g., retention statistics, critical open positions, employee satisfaction, and training initiatives and results); and demonstrates an understanding of owner priorities.

• Supervises one or more on-property Human Resources, as well as market-based Human Resources Specialist type resources where appropriate.

 

Managing Staffing and Recruitment Process

• Analyzes open positions to balance the development of existing talent and business needs.

• Serves as coach and expert facilitator of the selection and interviewing process.

• Surfaces opportunities in work processes and staffing optimization.

• Makes staffing decisions to manage the talent cadre and pipeline at the property.

• Develops staffing strategy (in collaboration with hiring manager) relating to hiring practices; consults with hiring manager on compensation, benefits, etc.

• Monitors sourcing process and outcomes of staffing process.

• Ensures managers are competent in assessing and evaluating hourly staff.

 

Managing Employee Compensation Strategy

• Remains current and knowledgeable in the internal and external compensation and work competitive environments.

• Leads the planning of the hourly employee total compensation strategy.

• Champions the communication and proper use of total compensation systems, tools, programs, policies, etc.

• Participates in quarterly internal equity analysis; reviews internal equity reports and surface issues needing resolution.

• Creates and implement s total compensation management packages/offers, particularly recognition and incentive programs directed towards property priorities.

 

Managing Staff Development Activities

• Ensures completion of the duties and responsibilities of the properties’ Human Resources staff members, as outlined in applicable job description(s).

• Ensures property Human Resources staff is properly trained in all employee-related human resource information to appropriately respond to property employees.

• Serves as resource to property Human Resources staff on employee relations questions and issues.

• Continually reinforces positive employee relations concepts.

Job Description

The job description includes but not limited to the below:

Responsible for driving corporate business revenue in the hotel by securing new accounts, retaining and growing existing corporate clients.

Develop and execute a proactive corporate sales strategy aligned with the hotel’s overall revenue and marketing plan.

Identify, target and prospect new corporate accounts and establish relationships.

Working closely with internal departments to ensure delivery of service standards and maximising profitability.

Attend industry events, trade shows, road-shows, client visits, site inspections to promote the hotel and secure business.

Maintain a robust sales pipeline of qualified leads; manage follow-up, proposals, negotiations and contract closures.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, demand spikes and identify new opportunity segments.

Develop and nurture relationships with existing corporate clients, ensuring repeat business and account growth.

Deliver regular account reviews, forecasting, and check-in meetings with key stakeholders.

Work closely with Revenue Management to optimise pricing, packaging and yield strategies for corporate business.

Create and submit proposals, contracts, amendments; ensure all bookings are properly documented and turned over to operations.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activities, pipeline status, forecasts, monthly/quarterly results to senior management.

Liaise with Marketing team to develop targeted campaigns, promotional offers, and sales collateral for the corporate segment.

Work cross-functionally with F&B and other departments to tailor offers to corporate clients.

Represent the hotel externally (industry associations, corporate networking events) to raise visibility and brand in the market.

Keep abreast of hospitality industry trends in the corporate sector developments and apply insights into strategy.

Maintain professional presentation, high level of service orientation, and uphold the hotel’s luxury brand standards.

Qualifications

High school Diploma or University Degree

Minimum 3-5 years of corporate sales experience in a luxury hotel

Proficient in MS Office programs

Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills to engage C-level clients and decision-makers.

Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, self-motivated, and able to operate in fast-paced luxury environment.

Site Supervisor, Askar, Bahrain

Role Summary

Supervise and execute end to end work at assigned site by proper delegation and coordination with

vendors, sub-contractors, and labour within the defined deadlines and share regular updates with Project manager.

Role Description

·Should conduct Site Surveys.

·Setting out/Marking - Interior finishes on site

·Prepare Work program/Scheduling of Project preferably in MS Projects.

·Prepare Daily/Regular Site Reports with necessary progress pictures and report to PM

·Handle/plan and delegate workers/charge hands depending on work requirement.

·Coordinate and follow up with several Trades on site - MEP, Mall, Landlord, Tenant etc.

·Adhere and Monitor Safety/First Aid aspects on site – periodically

·Report/highlight to PM immediately in case of any discrepancy on site vs drawings, emergency, accident etc.

·Liaise/Follow up with Factory team for Manufacturing/Delivery of required Joinery Items – per project requirement

·Attend site meeting with client along with PM to record discussions and prepare/act on points discussed

·Book time sheet of workers on a daily basis

·Willing to work for extended hours, weekends, and night shifts - as/if required

·Able to check as built quantities by subcontractors and submit report at time of completion of project for final account purposes

Candidate Requirements

·5-8 years of experience

·Diploma (or) equivalent course

·Ability to work on CAD, Excel, Word, and MS Projects

·Action Orientation

·Teamwork

·Detail Orientation

·Prioritization

·Customer Service

·Labour management on daily basis

Daily Report Duties

 

General

Prepare daily reports.

Verify and investigate all rebates, miscellaneous credits, and charges with Controller and GM approval.

Rooms

Review room rate discrepancies and complimentary room reports.

Prepare housekeeping discrepancy reports.

Check paid outs, guest ledger, transfer transactions, and daily credit reports.

Review Open PM accounts weekly.

Conduct weekly physical room and guest RC spot checks.

Food & Beverage

Review Micros F&B recap and match with system reports.

Control banquet function sheets and verify event charges.

Investigate discrepancies with Banquet Manager.

Conduct outlet spot checks and review voids/returns with approvals.

Other Departments

Verify telephone, laundry, and recreation reports with system records.

Conduct surprise visits to laundry and health club.

Ensure proper posting, pricing, and membership verification.

Cashiers

Verify cashier deposits with night audit reports.

Review collections, bank deposits, shortages/overages, and receipt sequences.

Ensure daily collections are accurate and deposited on time.

Journal Vouchers

Prepare sales, cash, room statistics, food cover, telephone, and market segment journals.

General Duties

Review house funds and reconciliations.

Supervise Night Auditor activities.

Maintain revenue and CSA files.

Control outlet dockets and revenue journals.

Audit collections, advance payments, floats, and daily revenues.

Perform special tasks assigned by management.
